Week #4

This week went so fast, but I still managed to get quite a bit done! I never made baby sack sets before, so these were an adventure and I finished both on the same night.

Here's the Very Hungry Caterpillar set:

And here's the Santa Baby Set:

But I couldn't stop there! My daughter decided that she loved the new fuzzy blue yarn that I bought the other day on a whim and hadn't thought of what to make with it yet. She got into it and unraveled about half of it. I decided the best way to fix the situation was to crochet it all up! I made the hat, set it down, and completed the Santa Baby Set. As I was looking over at it while crocheting the set, I could only see the perfect Cookie Monster hat. The exact color, the fuzziness, it just fit perfectly, so this morning I ended up quickly crocheting some white half spheres and sewing them on, then adding the little black button eyeballs. I never made an entire hat out of fuzzy yarn before, but it was much easier than I anticipated.

I just have two ribbed cable hats to make (matching for a set of little brothers!) and I'll be able to complete the order. Hoping I'll be able to get them done before the end of the weekend!

Week #3

Sadly, this was a rough week. I was sick since last Thursday to yesterday. Since I don't work on orders while sick (as a courtesy to the buyer - no one wants to think of their orders being made by someone who's sneezy and germy!) I didn't get much accomplished. I sold my biggest order yet, which I was very happy about, and I decided to work on a hat for my daughter.

This is a custom hat that is pretty unique - as it can't be found anywhere on storenvy or etsy (except in my store!). Katie loves Mickey Mouse's teddy bear Duffy, so I made one in the likeness of it and she's been carrying it around and wearing it since! She loves cuddling her Duffy and wearing her Duffy hat!

Here's my favorite little model:

Week #2

I'm starting off this week with an adorable picture from one happy little toddler! Lincoln "the elf" is a two year old looking forward to Christmas - which is when his little brother is due! (Little brother also received some of the Homespun Dream's fun - he got the Rudolph hat and diaper set from last week's picture!)

This week has been BUSY! I had an order from a few weeks ago that I've been working on and I'm finally, finally finished with it! This customer and her husband LOVE the show Firefly, and requested five Jayne hats - enough for the whole family, including a little infant one for their upcoming arrival. Speaking of their upcoming arrival, he got a few more goodies - a little R2D2 hat and a panda set!

But the week doesn't end there! I'm starting on another large order that's not just hats, but baby crochet sacks for photo shoots. My fingers are going to be SORE after finishing up the Santa Sack set, a Hungry Caterpillar set, and two ribbed cable hats, but I've been so eager to do these so I'm super excited! So far, this is what the Santa Sack looks like:

Hoping to get a good portion of this order done this week so I can have it up and listed for next week and move on to the next big order (lots and lots of big orders coming!), this time for a set of triplets!

Week #1

This week was full of half done orders. I'm spreading myself a bit thin, and I've been so busy that I had a hard time keeping up. The most important order (the one who paid me last week) I did finish and is now ready to ship. Now I'm working on two large orders - one has seven hats and a baby set, and the other has two baby sets and two hats and is continuing to add to that. I'm hoping to get most of the first order completed this week and hopefully at least half of the second. There's so many large order requests right now, which put a lot of pressure on me, but they're fun to do. Once those are completed, I have a special request for triplet sets! That sound be a fun one, two baby girls and one little boy all in almost matching sets.

Here's the order I just finished, for a little two year old boy and his brother coming around Christmas. This is the third or fourth reindeer I've sold and either the fourth or fifth elf hat so far. They're quite popular!
